Sheffield Fair Play League gets new Sponsor

The Sheffield & District Fair Play League’s season has got off to a flying start with a new league sponsor.
Bell & Buxton solicitors have agreed a sponsorship deal with the league including the supply of match balls and trophies for the league cup competitions.

The SDFPL was set up in 1997 to give local churches the chance to serve their communities by providing regular, competitive football, played in the spirit of fair play. Since that time the league has grown to 20 teams across two divisions and has become a significant part of the local sports calendar.

According to Tchad Western the SDFPL Chairman the sponsorship is extremely welcome. “The league is growing in popularity as a result of the ethos behind it, which is about playing great games of football in the spirit of fair play and respect – to get this sponsorship is a great help towards the running and development of the league – we’re just hoping that we can secure support from one of the big local clubs for the use of their stadium for the league cup.”

Alex Ross a partner at Bell & Buxton Solicitors is equally enthusiastic about the new sponsorship “we were alerted to the Fair Play League by one of our solicitors who plays for one of the teams and were impressed by the ethos of the league and the way that it is managed, so we were delighted to be able to get involved in some way”.

Teams interested in joining the Sheffield & District Fair Play League must be FA affiliated and comply with the leagues joining criteria. Details can be found at www.sdfpl.co.uk
