EASTER CAR BOOT SUCCESS FOR TEAM BELL & BUXTON

Having a well deserved rest is what most of us were doing during the Easter break, but this was not the case for three brave Bell & Buxton Solicitors, who were up at the crack of dawn on Easter Sunday morning,  all in the name of charity!

Adam Tankard, Dave Jones and Laura Sanderson, took their car full of goodies to Sheffield’s famous Marsh Lane Car Boot Sale on Easter Sunday, to try and raise as much money as possible for the Cavendish Cancer Care Charity, as part of the Master Cutler’s Challenge.

Braving the cold, and starting at 6am, the Bell & Buxton team sold all manner of interesting and unusual gifts  to the Marsh Lane car booters, successfully raising in excess of £150 for the charity.

The early start clearly wasn’t challenge enough for the team, so they undertook a personal ‘bake-off’ challenge: Which of their sweet treats would sell the quickest?
Adam’s dainty fairy cakes?, Laura’s traditional chocolate cornflakes treats, or Dave’s ambitious brownies?
Although the brownies took an early lead, it was Adam’s fairy cakes which proved to be a huge hit and sold out first!
Well done Adam, a budding Mary Berry!

Adam Tankard, Head of the Bell & Buxton Family Team, commented:
“As soon as the firm decided to take part in the Master Cutler’s Challenge, everyone wanted to help and threw a lot of ideas into the pot. I thought a car boot was a quick and easy way to start the money rolling in, although I hadn’t appreciated how early a start it would be!

“We had a great response from all the staff at Bell & Buxton, with people bringing in a wide range of gifts for us to sell. The car boot itself was good fun, and very busy, and I think we have done ourselves and Bell & Buxton proud with the amount of money we made for such a fantastic charity.

“Obviously, winning the ‘bake-off’ was my own personal victory, which just made the day even better!.”
