"We would like to express our appreciation and thanks to Bell & Buxton for the work they did on our behalf during the recent sale of the assets of our business.  Their approach was very professional and made it very easy for the "legal jargon" to be understood by us laymen. They were extremely efficient and prepared to work outside normal working hours to see the transaction through knowing the very limited time we had to complete."

Tax Planning & Trusts

Trusts are a highly specialised area of law which can be extremely complex and there are many reasons why people may make a Trust.  By way of example, a Trust could be used in order to minimise your Inheritance Tax liability.  If you are married and looking to reduce your Inheritance Tax burden, one of the first things you should consider is updating your Will to include a Nil Rate Band Discretionary Trust.  For more information see our Trusts factsheet.

As well as being a useful tool to minimise your Inheritance Tax liability (see our Inheritance Tax factsheet), a Trust can be an extremely flexible means of providing for your family in difficult circumstances such as caring for a disabled beneficiary who is unable to look after their own finances.

Bell & Buxton has a specialist team, recognised in the 2011 UK edition of The Legal 500, which can advise you on all areas of Trust law and Inheritance Tax planning.
