For life overseas. With our seal of approval.
We are home to one of only a small number of specialist solicitors trained to authenticate legal documents for use in the UK or abroad.
Any individual or business can find themselves involved in disputes whether they are customers, suppliers, advisers or with colleagues/staff within an organisation. Dealing with those disputes can tie up valuable management time, damage reputation and commercial relationships as well as involving significant financial outlay.
During the new lockdown we will continue to work remotely wherever possible. However, our offices will be open should it be necessary to visit to deliver documents or to see any of our solicitors. Please make sure that you make an appointment for any visit as we need to limit the number of visitors to our offices at any one time and ensure that they and our staff are safe.
Where possible we will arrange virtual meetings by video conference/telephone with our clients and others when appropriate. If you want to talk to one of our solicitors or need legal advice please contact us and we will do all that we can to assist. Please bear with us if it takes a little longer than usual to reply to you.
Anyone visiting us at our offices will need to wear a face covering and follow all the government guidance regarding social distancing.
Bell and Buxton’s key focus is to seek to resolve client disputes as quickly and as commercially as possible. We are recommended in The Legal 500 2020 for our expertise in this field. Our team are described as having an ‘in-depth knowledge of the local market’ and for being ‘extremely understanding and reassuring, giving clients confidence in its ability to fight their corner’.
We work with our clients to quickly understand the issues involved in the dispute and to assist you in devising a strategy that will meet your commercial objectives, as well as being both realistic and cost effective.
We offer a clear and transparent approach on costs, as well as a range of funding options. Our approach will not be limited simply to progressing the matter via the Court, quite the contrary. Our commercial litigation lawyers provide assistance by way of direct negotiations between the parties, mediation, arbitration and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. Given the time and financial commitment involved in Court action, we very much see it as an option of last resort. However, if Court proceedings are unavoidable, our skilled litigators always handle court cases with the diligence and robustness they deserve.
In addition to dealing with disputes which have already arisen, we are also firmly committed to the premise that “prevention is better than cure”. As a result, we always provide our clients with commercially aware advice, designed to reduce the risk of similar disputes occurring in the future.
Our dispute resolution services cover a broad spectrum of disputes and our solicitors have extensive experience of both procedure and practice of litigation as well as property, corporate/commercial, intellectual property and employment matters.
