Caroline Deathe is a Solicitor and is part of the Will, Trust and Inheritance Disputes team and works alongside John Breeze. Caroline has been named as a recommended lawyer in the 2021 Legal 500 for her practice in this niche area and has been described as ‘an empathetic, pragmatic and driven litigator who gives good advice and is always aware of the client’s needs and objectives’.
Caroline specialises in disputes that deal with wills, trust and inheritance matters. She also deals with disputes and issues that arise in the Court of Protection. Caroline has commenced her ACTAPS qualification in 2020 which will serve to bolster her expertise in this complex area of law.
Before joining Bell and Buxton in October 2020, Caroline completed her undergraduate degree at Lancaster University studying History. She then went on to study the GDL and LPC at the University of Law in Birmingham before moving to Manchester to start her legal practice. Caroline undertook her training contract at Myerson Solicitors in Altrincham where she specialized in wills and trust disputes and qualified into this area in 2017 where on qualification she moved to a West Yorkshire firm.
Since qualifying Caroline has also gained experience in property litigation law which enables her to give additional perspective and advice where will and inheritance disputes concern property. As well as giving clear and straightforward advice, Caroline aims to offer realistic solutions to clients’ disputes. She is as confident dealing with settlement options as she is to take matters to court. Caroline enjoys fostering a good working relationship with her clients and other legal professionals and has been described in the 2021 Legal 500 as a ‘delight to work with’.
