We are looking for a full time Office Assistant to work in a busy high street firm, from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. 

The role requires the successful candidate to provide support around the firm generally to all departments. This is a busy and varied role working in a small team, so the successful candidate must be flexible to cover holidays and absences where necessary. Career progression is also available within the firm.

What we are looking for:

  • Prior work experience in an office is desirable
  • Ability to work effectively within a team but also to feel confident working autonomously.
  • Microsoft Office including Word and Excel is essential.
  • Good English, grammar and spelling and numerical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills - experience in dealing with clients face to face and via telephone is essential as some work to cover reception and other public facing work will be required.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload within the required timescales
  • Ability to work under pressure as and when required (this may involve some flexibility in working hours).
  • An understanding of the need for confidentiality and discretion, which are essential for working in a solicitor’s firm.
  • Confidence in using a case management system. Experience of Partner for Windows is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
  • Some lifting and carrying may be necessary, as well as some travel out of the office.

  • General admin tasks
  • Reception cover
  • Incoming and outgoing post, franking and DX
  • Some typing
  • Opening and closing files as well as archiving files, deeds and Wills
  • Updating records on our database
  • Copying and scanning
  • Some banking
  • Ordering stationery and stock
